Hi,
How long can this cooler stay in the car before it should be replaced??

it should be good for life so unless you abuse it or by some slim chance it developed a leak then never.

I guess I should add if you blow the transmission up and it shoots metal thru everything then I would probably replace it there only about $100-120

But what about the hoses? They are made of rubber! Will they last for life?

Depending on the quality of the hose, from a year or two for the cheap stuff to over 10 for the good stuff. These are maintenance/wear items, never intended to last the life of the vehicle.

the hoses are pretty good, the trans fluid pressure for the cooler function is only about 20 psi they should last a good long time. I put mine on the yukon almost 3 years ago and everything still looks as good as day 1. this isn't something you should have to worry about having to replace every couple years or something. But like James said hoses are a maintenance item they wont last forever

If you already have the stock cooler, do the OEM lines hook directly up to this cooler?

We really need these coolers here in Oman. It is very hot and dry in summers! In 2018, I climbed a mountain and the trans. temp. reached 108 C. !!
