Traction control and emergency brake lights both came on while driving on highway.

I have a 2007 Chevy Tahoe 5.3L and while driving on the highway my traction control light came on and my emergency brake light as well. It was making a chime sound while the emergency brake light was on. It went off after about 10 seconds then 2 minutes later it came back on chiming again.

When it initially came on it said ‘Service Brake System’ but when it came on a second time it did not say that.

The traction control light never turned off and wouldn’t turn off when I hit the traction control button. The braking felt like it was fine.

I did check my brake fluid level and it’s just over the minimum line, maybe about of an inch.

You used the term "emergency brake", which is your parking brake. Did you mean that, or the "Service brake system" light? Chasing down those warnings can become a nightmare. There are many different issues that cause the same warning. ABS sensors, dirty throttle body, bad throttle body sensor, a bad tpms sensor, and more. If you know someone with a Tech2 reader, they might be able to head you in the right direction.

Do you have, or have access to, a quality bi-directional scanner? If not, I recommend that you get yourself a quality bi-directional scanner to add to your tool box. Then, you will be able to read ALL trouble codes, along with a brief explanation/pointer to the source of your issue. You can test many of the truck's electronic functions with the scanner, in order to determine the source of an issue. You will also be able to reset/delete trouble codes, after taking corrective action. You will literally save thousands of dollars in diagnostic and repair costs over the life of your truck, and you will most likely recoup the cost of the scanner within 1 year.

Had an issue with Stabilitrak light, brake light, and ABS light coming on in my wife's 2011 a month or so ago. Ran a scan and turns out it was due to low brake fluid, right at the minimum line.
