TPMS replacement

...so, i swapped my stock rims with 2015 Sierra take offs. Brand new, 2.3 total miles for 17" and tires. TPMS sensors still there. I was under the impression that the 2007+ sensors wouldn't work with my 05 Yukon. So far I've driven around the neighborhood and still getting readings from the new set of tires. Is there some time limit or speed that needs to be reached before they realize whats going on, or are the new ones somehow working? I didn't do any of the learn procedures or anything. I get readings on all four wheels.

I believe its only a matter of time or miles before it will trigger the warning light. I bet the air pressures you see are the ones from the old tires. If you let some air out of one or add air the numbers prolly wouldn't change. You are correct that the 07-up sensors will not work with our trucks. I don't know how important the actual readings are to you but a friend of mine suggested an easy way to keep the light off-just take the old sensors out of your other wheels and leave them in a bag and keep them inside the truck. I personally like seeing the readings so I wouldn't do that method....

I tried to do the relearn procedure to see if it was indeed the old sensors. Obviously, it didn't work. DIC then read 0 psi for all. Curiously, the LF is now reading 42 psi. Wtf?! The old wheels/tires are in the side of the house, and none have more than 35 psi. So weird. Oh well, I'll get some new sensors off amazon. Or eBay.

Anyone used these, seems too cheap to be good, I guess they are some kind of Chinese knockoff?

I read a bunch of bad stories about cheap sensors, I ended up going with discount tire sensors when I got new tires from them. I think it was around 200

Yeah I'm gonna try the Dorman ones from Amazon. I'd go with the GM part but that'd be $40 more for the set, plus I read they DONT come with new nuts-(like 5 bucks apiece, another 20 bucks) which i want since I'm not replacing the same style. At least if they don't initially work I know Amazon will be refunding me. Gonna put them in at the base hobby shop where I work so it shouldn't cost much

I did put in the AC Delco's.

4 of ACDelco 15114379 GM Original Equipment Tire Pressure Sensor with Cap, Grommet, and Valve Kit

Got them from Amazon. Cost me $166 shipped. Pricey yes, but zero codes when I changed out the wheels. Was tired of having the TPMS light on the dash and no way to accurately assess my tire pressure.

Welcome sir. I had OEM that died and got some cheapo ones that never worked right. DIC light was always on. Went with the AC Delcos with new wheels and no issues.

@Fosscore did you reuse the nuts from your previous sensors? I've read the delves don't come with the nut

That is a good question that I do not have a solid answer for you. My guy at the tire shop took care of all the installation when they mounted the tires and wheels.

I'm using the 2015 wheels with those style tpms sensors, I guess they don't have he same nut or any nut maybe. I'll gamble on he dormans I guess

I used these in my Moto 970's and work just fine in my 04. They pre program them before they ship them out. All i had to do was install them in my wheels, learn the sensors and have been working like factory for the 3 weeks or so they have been in.

Here's my question for you guys. 2004 Tahoe, I have never seen actual tire pressure on the DIC but have seen the low pressure warning. Replaced wheels (new to me 20's) and bought new AC Delco sensors of Amazon. Went to STS (tire store) to get an alignment and replace sensors. They stated they do not program sensors they didn't sell. I've read the reprogramming procedure in the manual but don't think that is all I need to do to get the sensors to work.
How do I get the initial programming for the sensors done? Thanks, appointment is tomorrow.

Put the Dorman 974-007 sensors from Amazon ($31 each) into tmy 2016 Sierra rims i have on my 05 Yukon. Works great, finally i don't get scolded to check Tire Pressure system every time i start the truck. @David Paul, the programming procedure is all you need to do. The sensors will start reading actual pressure after you've driven a few miles, not immediately after the procedure.
