Was the paint color under the badge the same as the rest of the truck? Mine is an 04 and I am thinking of debadging but don't want the paint to mismatch.....

Thanks!

What color is your Yukon? Darker colors will fade more so than lighter colors especially if they were never garaged. My bet though is you'll be fine. Pull one off and clean the spot really well and if it turns out to be noticable which 99% most likely wont be then you can always get some tape and put it back on.

I went to debadge mine and found out I had to put mine back on cause when it was repainted they never removed all the old adhesive so theres bumps in the paint... So pissed :(

mine is the dark blue, buffed and waxed it, can't tell. Yours being lighter, should actually be easier.

Looks like I will be adding this to the list of projects.

Thanks guys!

it's almost funny how many people look at your truck and never notice the small things like a debadge, then when they do, they say "hey, the decals are gone!"

:D

I removed mine last August with the paint matching up just fine and mine is an 01. I'm sure you will be okay unless something has been repainted. Just do yourself a favor and use the 3m eraser wheel.

I did not have an issue when I debadge my truck. Removed all the glue washed, waxed, and the paint was fine. My truck is green if that helps

Just be careful if you try the eraser wheel. ******* at the body shop went this route on my Z06 and burned the paint on my passenger door in SEVERAL spots. I wouldve done it myself but it was already in there cause my wife backed into the rear bumper somehow :(

I have done it to a Black and Silver Tahoe. Both times you could not tell they were there.

I used a heat gun (be careful) and heated the badges up till it was just hot enough not to touch for a short period of time.
Slowly pull the badge off, and to remove the glue I used the spray can 3M wax and adhesive remover, and a rag(and a blister)

Takes some time but well worth it...
