Hey everyone, my wife is wanting to get a Tahoe but I'm kind of torn on whether to get her a diesel or 6.2.. A little background, she probably drives 10 miles a day (if that), and won't be towing anything. I'm really wanting a diesel, but the low amount of miles she's gonna be putting on it make me a little leery. I know diesels want to be driven and I don't know if that will be an issue with regen. Let me know what your thoughts are!

^^x2^^ I'm sure that you can invent reasons to take the truck out for a drive, when she's not using it. (Unless you are like me, and have a wife who knows that you will drive the snot out of it, once you get into it.)

Go diesel. The V8's are ticking time bombs that GM still can't get right up to the '22 model year. My wife had a '21 SLT diesel while we waited for our Denali and she absolutely loves the powertrain for this size vehicle. Mostly short trips to drop off the kid (5 minutes) or the office (10 minutes), with weekend longer drives for activities/errands. I use it to tow longer distances during the summer. 20K miles in 14 months on the SLT, not a single issue, even in winter months with plenty of below freezing startups here in Michigan. Only have about 800 miles on the Denali, but I don't expect any powertrain issues for the time we'll be keeping it (typically ~5 years).
