I have tried searching, but can't really find much info. I have been lurking around this site for the past 5 years, but recently joined and want to be more active. I just bought an 06 Escalade about a month ago to replace my 01 Tahoe and I knew the third brake light wasn't working, but didn't think it would be such a big deal to replace or fix it. I can't find a used one around me and they are $300 or more on ebay. New replacements are even more expensive. I have seen some people mention that they were able to install one from a NNBS. I am curious what all is involved or needed to do that. Has anyone here done this that could give me some more info? Anyone have a used original (NBS) that they can part with? Any ideas for a DIY fix? I am open to any ideas or suggestions, but I am working with a very limited budget. Thank you!

Have you checked the fuse for the CHMSL circuit (in the underhood fusebox), and verified that there is voltage to the light when the brakes are engaged?

Yes, I did check and verify both. I meant to say that last night, but forgot to mention it. Thank you for responding so fast. I appreciate any help I can get.

Had the same issue. Kept blowing that fuse. Ended up dropping a line from the 3rd light and spliced in to the regular brake lights by-passing that whole circuit. Hey...it works.
