Time to implement my running board upgrade on thethirdtwin. I shattered the driver side and further cracked the passenger side in Wyoming.
I’ve had my eye on these or similar clones for a while.

They still mount to the same body points but should be good. I remember bill1960 used them on his trailhoe.

I rotated the tires on thethirdtwin. The size difference between it the thecopcar is amazing.

On board air is coming together. I still have to decide where to locate the switch. Probably under the hood. Also where I want to cleanly swipe ignition sense.

The ditch lights on thethirdtwin quit working. I used a VOM to finally track it down to this ring terminal. The fuse holder was 6 inches away and dead. Hitting the ring to check for continuity was no bueno. Hitting the end of the wire? Bingo!

Reattached a defroster tab on thethirdtwin. Looks like this one failed previously. I had the right side reattached as part of buying it.

Maybe the driver is different, so the "bill" goes to their piggy bank.

Flashback to 2020 for thecopcar. I replaced the original rear impact bar with one for a consumer Hoe, to get an OEM hitch receiver.
Here are the original PPV and consumer versions together. The aftermarket Drawtite hitch is below the spare.

I thrashed the running boards on thethirdtwin last summer, then finished them off a couple of weeks ago.

I put a new set on. The Overland Hound came over to inspect, and ensure they still function to get her in the cabin.

I bought these.
I had it in for a fuel leak and service, and the Chevy house suggested new ones. They only wanted $4200.

First running board mod. Can’t return em now!
the open top in places May look cool, but at the rear end, it’s also where the hound steps to get in and out of the cabin. I had visions of a slipping foot, and broken doggie leg. No bueno.
I have an aluminum sheet that was a blank for a road sign. That’ll do for peace of mind.
