Had a set of chrome oem GMC center caps laying around so I had the paint shop paint the inserts GMC red.

Easier to tell if you expand to the high res image:

Goes well with the sides of the smoked tails imo.

Eek, I had linked the the hi res version but it doesn't like it.

Here's the regular version but you can't see the details.

I dunno how to link the hi res properly.

I can see it with it expanded. It's a nice subtle touch. I've tossed around doing something similar with the bowties on my center caps and color matching them.

It's a little harder to do with the bowties cause they are raised/embossed, whereas the GMC lettering has a recessed groove in them. But if you can get a shop to do it right it might look good, but keep in mind it will also be more prominent because there's a lot more surface area on the bowtie.

They do, but in GM's infinite wisdom, the red lettered version only comes with polished caps ... so the only way to get them on chrome caps is to have them custom painted.
