a couple updates:

i have a nice order from rock auto for all moog inner and outer tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm, and idler arm assembly. also some new headlights/corner lights, rear z71 coil springs, and new front sway bar links/bushings as i never got all the correct parts when i bought my lift kit used.

one last order for 2 new hub assemblies and she's going to be in MUCH better shape. shortly after that will be body lift removal and then lots of small things. will add pictures while things are installed.

and can someone move this to the correct section for me? 00-06 please :) thanks!

Your truck looks really good.

It has come a longggg way.

This is the build section. There is no Old or New here. We are all one in here.:Handshake:

still need to throw in the z71 rear coil springs.

also have the moog steering parts and just ordered 2 timken front hubs. once that all arrives i will be installing and raising the front end an inch or so. so it will get a little bit taller. still crazy how big a difference it makes. i feel/hear the road much louder in a not so good way.. still have more suspension goodies to do.

also here is my old body lift's new home. my friend's gf's tahoe!

4" fabtech spindle lift with 3" body lift and some crank on 20x12's and 35 1250 federal couragias

yay more updates!

z71 coil springs are on! got these from ebay. they originally came off the z71 border patrol tahoes in california. they outfit them with different ones i guess. so these have practically 0 miles on them.

old vs new

FINALLY drilled the 2 holes and put the 2 bolts that i needed for my track bar drop. it just kinda swung back and forth and didn't really serve its purpose the past 2 years. i feel like i can take a corner at 100 mph now! yeah i know, its stupid i waited until now. but its finally done.

once i get around to installing all the front parts i will give her some more crank and i want to keep her at a level height. unfortunately i did not take any before measurements but i can take an after. but thats not really going to be any help..

Ordered a new AC Delco water pump, tstat and tstat housing yesterday. just realized i probably should have ordered new hoses and belts too while i was at it. thinking aloud here but probably gonna do that in a bit. but i should be installing all my front end parts tomorrow after work! finally. don't like how the truck looks with the ass in the air. angles are completely flat. almost stock flat really. so i have some crank. probably just level it out. maybe .5" taller in the front. anyways i'll get more pics tomorrow.

also forgot to put that i ordered some alpine type r components, spr-60c to be specific. my old focals have been run into the ground and it was time for something new. after 1.5 years of no working speakers, its damn nice to have them working again.

got a lot going on right now really i'm just bad with updates and pictures.

so far i've got inner/out tie rods, new sway bar links, and the new alpine speakers put in.

still have to tighten up sway bar links, install new pitman/idler arm and idler assembly, as well as clean up wiring/inside. been driving my honda for the past week or so, so not worried about down time. just working on it on my days off. although i realized the water pump i ordered didn't come with new gaskets... gonna have to order those too.

also forgot to put this up. when pulling out the old tweeters, this guy managed to make himself comfortable in my A pillar. no clue how long he's been there!

phew what a busy day off it has been.

since i was replacing almost everything in my steering, i decided to just pull the whole thing out. unbolted the steering gear, idler assembly, and tie rod ends from spindles and pulled the whole bastard out. Really made things MUCH easier.

Took it all apart and cleaned it up. I also ended up replacing my entire gear box. 200k miles has done its toll, and i don't have the skills/tools/time/patience to rebuild my old one. $185 trip to autozone later, and i had exchanged my old steering gear (with pitman arm still attached LOL was just gonna go in the trash anyway. had to remove the old nut and lock washer that held it in place for the new pump as well as the line tube for the fluid)

then i installed the new pitman arm to the gear, and bolted it in. Then put the idler arm on the new idler assembly. Not sure if it was really necessary to replace the idler assembly, but i'm not taking chances. then installed that onto the vehicle. Installed the center link, then tie rods and she was done!

not bad for a days work. my hands are always covered in shit so i never have time to take pictures. I'll take pictures once its all done.

Also went and measured all my fender heights. 43" in the rear and 42.5" in the front. probalby going to crank the front to 43.5-44" for a little cali. Need to get a torsion bar unloader and tighten up my torsion drop brackets and reinstall. Once thats done, fresh alignment and she's DONE!! psh yeah right

yay more updates!

well i got my bilstein 5160 reservoir shocks in today and did a little mock up. also cranked up the torsion keys to get the front where i want it. might drop it down a little. probably mess with it a little bit more before i get it aligned.

As for the shocks, going to just mount them in factory location and mount the resi on the frame towards the back of the vehicle using supplied mount bracket.

like this front end height

resi's in place. sort of
