whats the best and safest way to see if the front wheels actually turn in 4wd?

I always drove around town til i seen a dirt pile of some sort then just locked it in and drove up it, hold the brake down if it crawls it too easy.....

or lock it in and make a sharp slow turn on concrete you should be able to tell if there pulling

Brake turn on turn wheel and slowly let of brake you will feel the difference

put rear axle on stands and front lower control arms on stands. as if weight is on vehicle is one way if you have the proper equipment.

thanks guys. i could find out easy if i had my beach pass still.. stupid NPS crap.. but thats a different forums argument. ill probably do what gzes said. and sunlit ill do that too
