taking the amber out of the parking light

this unit does not open up like the headlamp does... i hear you can pop these things in the oven to open them up

Is that true and does anyone have a write up? what temp? How long? how do you re-seal?

Here's how they do it for the main light housing, should be similar for the bumper lights.

EDIT - i just read the link the lower assembly is adheared together, no tabs hold it together... this is where the oven comes in to play... i think

oh yeah as for the over, about 175 degrees (pre heated) if you go that route, for just a couple minutes, just to heat up the glue.

Not sure on the paint transfer, never did it before, Maybe the PC and a heavier polish, then the medium and then the fine.

i used a heat gun on my heads and parking lights. if i remember correctly, the reflector wouldnt come out of mine, it was like part of the outer lens. after painting the housings black the reflector didnt stand out as much.
p.s. if your going to paint the insides of your headlights DO NOT paint the chrome cups where the bulbs are because you will have ZERO visibility at night. i found out the hard way....mulligan!!!
