Tail Light Replacement Bulb Issue

I need to replace the OEM left brake light bulb on my '08 Yukon. According to Autozone and Sylvania's website, this is the 3057 replacement. Unfortunately, when I tried to replace the bulb tonight, it did not work. Has anyone else experienced this issue and what was the solution? The original bulbs do not have the black section when you insert them into the harness.

this is a tail light harness which one are you replacing, different bulbs go in different sockets

Are you saying the bulb won't fit into the housing? Or just the harness/plug? Your old bulb didn't dis-assemble and leave the black plug part in the harness?

On my '12 tahoe, I thought it had listed 3157 bulbs vs 3057. Here is a link that lists some differences..

According to that link, 3157 takes 12.8V vs 12.0V for the 3057. Otherwise 3157 supposedly lasts longer as well as being brighter.

I've noticed on some LED replacement bulbs, the clip makes it difficult to insert the bulb.
(Looked like the retaining clip is wider than bulb bases account for IIRC)
Had better luck wedging the bulbs in from one corner/side first. Once they go in, it snaps solidly like it should.

BTW I'm pissed at Sylvania for making those crappy Zevo LED's.

My 07 Yukon XL Denali uses a 7443 bulb for the tail lights. AcDelco 15194045 GMC 13591404

Sorry for the last reply. The brake light is the top of the three lights. The top two are the same bulb it appears.

See if your old bulbs look like this..
