Hi guys,
I own a 2018 Tahoe 5.3 (45K miles) for which the AC gas is leaving the AC system within 1,5 months after a complete refill. After inspection bij the dealer, they indicated that probably the front evaporator had to be replaced. I understand that the whole dashboard has to come out, which worries me a lot. Is there a hack like for the previous model, to just make a hole in the plastic box where the evaporator resides in and exchange the evaporator more easily? If not, do you think the dashboard removal is doable with causing damage?
FYI I live abroad in the Caribbean where car maintenance is less elaborately done by garages, resulting in less car extensive maintenance experience.
Love to hear your thoughts.
Thx!
