Has anyone found a good use for these odd storage spaces on either side of the center console on a Yukon Denali?

Touch`e……….

Folding Maps…..What are those? My iPhone 13 PRONAX would fit in there…even with the OtterBox defender case……..Definitely not easy to get so a good way of keeping your chances of reducing driver distraction. My phone either goes in the little compartment under the door handle……Unless it is in my hip holster or on the charging mat/charging cord! A Small notepad could also work. I wouldn’t put anything in there that will be difficult to access…….Pens, pencils etc…..

Its a great place for a ... wait for it ... Road Atlas ....

Oh, wait, all that info is readily available on the Infotainment screen...until it crashes, cell service not available, etc...

Funny you should mention that scenario.

Back a few vehicles and years ago…..ironically my winter in MSP. I actually had a flow chart for entertainment. I had AM/FM/CD/SXM/MP3/USB…

The flow chart was basically if any one failed went to the other and if ALL of those failed then we talk to each othe…….road trip flow chart. The other ironic part was I had a aftermarket portable NAV…… I had the Rand McNally as a back up.

Paper maps. No one under 30 has ever used one or knows where to buy one. Lol
When each of my children got their driver's license, I sent them off to buy maps at different gas stations across several counties. It was a test of their navigation skills and flying solo for the first time. In my file cabinet are bunch of road maps dating back from when I was a kid!

On another note…..I can’t find a good place for a Glock 19 sized piece except the glove box…….the center console is stuffed full of other stuff. An AR and 4 mags does fit nicely below the back floor boards!

I keep my "Getting to Know Your Denali" brochure in there. We are still getting used to it. The brochure helps me tell my Wife what the buttons are for because I can't remember them yet.

A Glock 43 sized pistol fits perfectly in the center console tray…although I’m considering a mount for under the steering wheel to hold a compact/G19 size…..
