What is supposed to be the limited speed for a 2016 Tahoe without any aftermarket mods?

You crazy Wes! LOL They call you Silver Bullet? 6,000 pounds doing 130+ MPH, wheweee, that's FAST!
ya they all do about the same when unlocked my 00 Yukon xl did 136, my 03 Silverado will do 137, I am sure this one can do 137, my 79 trans am would hit 140 in a snap with the old's 454 but I didn't like how it handled even after I had rebuilt the entire suspension. it really isn't that fast 200+ is fast. I find it hard to believe when people say "I've never gone over 85" lol, phhffttt, whatever, I think I did scare a little ol Chinese dude one time though when I was testing driving a Honda he had for sale he was riding shotgun and I got out on the freeway and hit about 90 and think he about shit his pants, lol I didn't buy it smelled like gas in the oil.

LOL. My dad had our stock Durango R/T up to 120 before and it didn't shut off. It went into MDS mode as soon as he let off

I took my 335i up to 155 and it rode really well...for some reason though I'm a bit leery of taking these trucks up past 90/95 even though I've taken the limiter off with the Diablo tune.

Mine went to only 97 according to the gps. Speedo said 100. Since my upgrades and tune I've had it to almost 130, and it was still pulling HARD! Member on here did similar upgrades to his Suburban as I did to mine and hit 130+, but blew his driveshaft up. He said our ds's aren't rated for that high of speeds.

Applied a 93 octane tune for my 2005 5.3L Avalanche; bought a NOS system and had a 75 horse shot installed; dyno'ed at 336 hp at the rear wheels and ran strong up to 153 mph and still pulling when they shut it down. Never ran it past 130 on the speedo. Was commuting long distance a lot back then and was tired of those lifted F250 diesels running away from me when I maxed out at 100. Also put tires rated at 150 mph or so on the truck to keep from having a blowout. Was lots of fun. Expensive, though, as it cost $125 or more every tank of fuel and it took a whole tank to make the trip back and forth to work every week for the 479 mile commute.

My '79 Sportcoupe would get squirrely at 125 mph and the GNs would feel the same at 148 mph @ 4400 rpms. My '06 SV6 Sport Montana would get 21 mpg at 90 mph and I think it topped out/cut off at 100. My '93 Olds Ciera cut off at 104 mph. I've had the Yukon up into the 90s to pass but didn't want to flog it until I grease the driveshaft and check the u-joints. That guy having his driveshafts come apart on another forum curbed my enthusiasm too. If it improved our mileage I might be persuaded! LOL That Montana would get better gas mileage at 77+ than at 70.

Most vehicles have a "sweet spot" for best mileage and it is hardly ever at 65 mph, more likely at 70 to 75 mph.

Yeah, we've had this discussion a few times and I think the general consensus is the 67-71 range. Obviously, your gearing matters, too.
