Hello from the GMT800 forum! I bought a 2009 Suburban 2500 recently and have been reading every relevant post in here since. I know there is a Suburban/XL forum but this one has much more traffic.

I let go of my 2000 Yukon XL 2500 to a good home and so far everything I hoped for in the 09 has been true.

Because nobody cares without pics...

The 00 XL.

Picking it up at the dealer.

And at home.

I had to fly to Minneapolis from Southern Indiana to get this one, 3/4 ton Burbs are impossible to find and I wanted one with no rust. It has 217k but has been maintained and runs like a champ. I drove 700 miles home at 75 mph with no problems.

I’m loving the 6 speed trans and the wife and kids are loving the bells and whistles inside. I already have a pile of tune up parts ready to go and a Lockpick to install from a member here.

I’m looking forward to hooking a trailer up and seeing what the integrated trailer brake is all about and how much nicer the 6L90 pulls vs the 4L80. It will eventually get a BB tune like I had on the 00 but for now I’m leaving it alone. Torque management is annoying though.

And to prove I’ve been in the GM SUV game for a while now, here’s the 98 6.5L K2500 Suburban I had before the 00 XL.

So I see you like 2500's. Do alot of towing? That 98 looked sweet. The 09 isn't so bad either. Congrats on the new ride.

I mostly haul around 4 kids, but we also tow my Cherokee on a car hauler and until recently we had a travel trailer. We are taking a break from camping this year but I wanted to be prepared for another TT.
