Steering column lock 2003 z71

Ever since it was stolen the mechanic can't get the column to lock. It works when I pick it up but after I get home it no longer locks again. I use the club to help out but it would be nice if it would lock like it did before it was stolen. Any suggestions

Are you referring to the steering wheel or the tilt on the column?

Have a 2003 Z71 since new. The steering wheel does not have a locking feature.

Likewise, my 2004 4wd doesn't have a factory steering wheel lock. It turns freely with the ignition off.
