So my 01 Tahoe has the absolute worst stereo I have ever heard (non bose in an LT :emotions122:). I was going to buy and install s HU and some speakers in the front doors and rear doors. Best buy gave me a rediculous quote and I was hoping to do this myself. He told me tho that the door panels on NBS trucks are hard to get off. Does anyone agree or is it pretty easy? I have done a HU and door speakers before but it was on a dodge.

Also, if someone doesnt mind, what size are the factory tweeters above the front door speakers? And both sets of doors speakers are 6 and 1/2's right?

go to crutchfield and use the outfit your ride thing and it will tell you some info, and im sure if you have installed speakers before in doors then you shouldnt have much of a problem getting yours off, sounds like they were just trying to scare you into letting them do it, i would imagine there are a few screws and then the clips just like other vehicles

quick google search found this:

Front door: Remove the triangular piece which backs the outside mirror by gently prying the top of it off with your fingers or a flat tool, then sliding it upward. Next pry off the lock actuator and its surrounding trim (the piece with the red square on it, not the electric switch) and the door handle surround trim. Pry up the piece which contains the door lock and window switches. Use a 9/32 socket to remove one screw buried in front of the arm rest, and another which was exposed by removing the switches. The door panel will now slide upwards enough for you to unplug the connectors for the switches, speaker and courtesy lamp.
Rear door: Similar to the front except the 9/32 screws are in front of the armrest and at the very bottom front of the panel and of course there is no triangular piece by the mirror.

I appreciate the responses. Looks easy enough. Thanks.
