When you send your datalog in, ask Justin about the 1900. Yes, the headers were snagged up quick!

HEB is running a sale on salt.. I suppose I can pick some up and when I drive up there to pick up that 1900, you guys can just rub it in the wound as well...

Jenna, you mentioned that Wheatley "locks" their tunes. Nelson does so as well, even though they sometimes claim they don't. I installed a remote starter on a friends truck with a Nelson tune, and the factory anti-theft system bypass module would not work for some reason. It would NOT allow the engine to start without the key. After a few days of research (and many headaches) we confirmed that the bypass module was not working because it basically tells the computer to bypass the Passlock system and allow the engine to start. But with the ECM "locked", that wasn't allowing the module to communicate the bypass signals to the ECM. And Nelson was zero help. They just kept insisting that they automatically bypass the "VATS" (even though it's not even called VATS on our trucks) when they do a tune. They were basically making all kinds of excuses as to why the tune could no way he responsible for the problem I was having. Just to prove to my friend that I knew what I was talking about, I purchased another bypass module and we had the same result. I then tried both bypass modules on my own truck (which is BB tuned) and each allowed my remote start to work properly (after being programmed to my truck if course).
Bottom line, I went old school with it and did a hardware resistor bypass at the ignition switch instead if using the databus wire bypass module and then that allows his remote start to work just fine. And reason being is because there is no "communication" with the ECM, the resistors just fool the ECM into thinking there is a key in the ignition.

Yes, Nelson locks his tunes as well. We have had customers who have had to buy new modules, after being tuned by both those tuners.

No offense, but you live in Tx. There is a TON of tuners there. Id go get a real tune. Nothing against Black Bear, but they are cookie cutter tunes. I know of a few high dollar trucks that have had black bear tunes, well needless to say, it wasnt pretty. just my .02

I know this is a few years old, but I see this poster was still active as recent as yesterday and never responded back in this thread. Even after several other people had asked for them to back up this claim there was nothing, and I'm adding myself to the list. I've gone through half this website, and several others (Perf truck, gmfullsize, silvsierra, (I think a couple more). The ONLY negative I have ever heard about BB was there response time to emails; which was figured out that when you send them another one, you go to the bottom of the list. I have NEVER read anything bad about the quality of their tune, other than from this one other person (who coincidentally happens to be in this thread). I'm curious if you can direct to ANYONE who can back this up...

He can't back up the claim. If you go to a tune event you will see Justin actually rides in your truck and does adjustments on the fly. He's tuned mine from a stock 5.3 to a cammed 6.0/4l85 with a segment swap. My a/f ratio gauge confirms my tune is running right at 12.5 WOT. I'm running bigger injectors/stall and full exhaust. You not gonna get a cookie cutter tune with all that and still pull18mpg hwy..the only limitation I have is my 4l85 trans and issues with EFI live keeping the converter locked at 0% throttle..I need to adjust 1 shift point and I will email Justin so he can tweak my tune and I update it with my Autocal..It's a custom tune..
