Been driving me crazy the last couple months.

I can not for the life of me figure out where the clunking sound is coming from. Seems to be coming from the rear, maybe the driver side. Only happens when I go over a bump or something harsher.

Sounds like something loose or something banging.

I have nut and bolt checked everything, checked bushing, sway bar. Replaced sway bar bushings. Even disconnected the sway bar and it still made the sound.

Double checked is my spare tire was loose or my exhaust.

Checked if the brakes were loose

I can't figure it out.

Any suggestions?

When you hit the bump just before going up? Or on the comedown?
Have anyone else drive while you hide in the rear cargo area to pinpoint the clunk.

After that, gotta get it up on a lift.
Question is, does the lift let the suspension go free, or will it be an alignment type lift?

Seems to be on the come down. To the best of my ability with my head out the window and all windows down. It really seems like rear driver side

If you think you're sufficiently agile, get behind the 2nd row seats while someone else you trust drives over a speed hump or something.
You drive it 1st so they can witness that you're not hallucinating, and they see exactly how you want them to drive to replicate the complaint.

You'll at least better pinpoint the location than when you were driving.

I know it might be a longshot but it happened to me 2 weeks ago. Mine was self induced because I had taken my jack out and didn't get it back into it's holder correctly and it came loose and was rattling around when I hit larger bumps. It's drivers side rear just behind the wheel well so it sounded like suspension. It's a quick check to pull the access cover off in the rear left tailgate area and just make sure it didn't get loose in it's bracket.

I can check. But the sound it louder with the windows open. I don't hear it as much with the windows closed.

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to check ours, we have a random clunk in the driver rear as well.
