New Yukon/lurker owner here from New York. Do you guys leave the truck in Auto or 4x or 2x? Getting new Goodyear tires as we speak. (OEM ones, Assurance Fuel Max)

owned mine for 2.5yrs and this is the first snow that it's ever gotten (was in Hawaii).

even as a 2wd, it did awesome in the snow. we got about 5"

factory shit tires, and for the most part the Tahoe plowed right through it all. The traction control is flat out awesome. It allows for some wheel spin, but not enough to let you get stupid and dangerous. Chevy did a bang-up job on this

Tahoe 2x4 when i drive it, Auto when the wife is behind the wheel..
Tahoe has Red Letter Grabbers with 4 sypes per inch

Yukon is only in 4x4 when theirs more then 10 inches of powder snow!

Not much snow here yet. But we had a 2" coating of snow, slush, ice mix over the weekend. Drove in AWD with new Michelin Premier's without any problems. I love the long wheel base in snow and the AWD works pretty flawlessly. But yes, I always allow enough room for stopping.

Had lake effect snow yesterday and this morning, even on the stock tires I was flooring it and having a blast whenever traffic thinned out enough...trying to get the rear end to kick out and then it would catch/correct itself. Great snow vehicle imo....

I've been using awd a little the last couple weeks and it seems to me that the drive train is way too loud. it reminds of a 4wd system from 20-30yrs ago.

Do you hear much from the drive system when running in awd mode?

You mean 4wd auto? That's different from the AWD models. I though AWD wasn't selectable, but could be wrong.

But yeah these trucks pretty much do use a 4wd system that's been around for 30 years. Mine doesn't make much noise though. Some occasional whine.

Any moisture on the road and I put the truck in AWD. Had a bad spin out years ago in a Honda Passport and the rear wheel drive freaks me out. I don't feel any difference. Have yet to put the truck in 4 wheel drive though

Yes, I meant 4wd auto...may ask dealer to check it out as it seems way too noisy when active.
