On my new to me 98 Tahoe when I put on the turn signal, or press the brake pedal, I get a static noise over the radio. The ground to the radio is good and clean. Any ideas where else I should look? Thanks
Very informative read. When it warms up a bit I'm going to replace all the stock wiring for power, ground and to all the speakers with better wire and re-do the main power wire from the alternator and battery. Thanks
Going to check the ground wires first then try a different unmounted antennae I have lying around. If that don't fix it I will run a new power wire right to the acc terminal on the fuse block and a new ground wire to metal on the underside of the dash. I wired this stereo in using the factory wiring bundle that had been butchered before I got it as there was a monster system in there but had been removed. They had draw power for the various components from the powered seat, the door switches and the door window motors. It was nuts how many wires I had to remove and repair the original wires and connectors back to factory spec.
i have a radio signal issue after installing my kenwood in 2010 but i never listened to the stations on the road so i never fixed it. for me the antenna cable got mutilated and the repair was not adequate. it really needed to be replaced. one day perhaps. makes all kinds of noise on am/fm.
