Took my truck to the dealer to have the left front hub and axle replaced plus and oil line and rear shocks. After I got it back I still had lights on the dash and now I get "Service Ride Control" on my dash. All of the other lights went out. Is there anything I can do? I did make another appointment to bring it back to the dealer to get looked at but if there is something simple I can do then please help

Check up above he frame rail to see if they accidentally disconnected any plugs right above the front shocks.

My point is I took it to the dealer and if they replaced the shocks with anything that would trigger this alert I have issue with that

That is why I asked with what type of shocks? If you had the dealer replace the rear air shocks with other than factory replacements or ones from Arnott you are going to have a warning light. Each shock location has an electrical connection that needs to be hooked up or else you will get a warning. Also the compressor must be plugged in as well. The RTD/Autoride/Autolevel system has multiple components that can trigger that message FYI.

The front shock sensors are actually at the top of the shock mount. You can see that by looking right above the front fender liner.

Yes I know that. I would hope if they did that they would have told me I would be getting the warning on the dash. Wouldn't you think?

I did ask for the cheaper alternative but I hope they were air ride shocks. I'm a little annoyed otherwise because I would have brought the truck to a regular mechanic and not paid the dealer premium.

OK now that I read the invoice they put in Monroe 37166 Sensa-Trac Light Truck Shock Absorber so I guess I'm going to have to live with the warning...MOTHER FRIGGER!! i should have been more clear with them. Thanks guys

Can't believe the dealer would put those in and not ask you if you wanted to retain the autoride or not.....what a joke-I'd be pissed. Wasn't sure how much info you knew about the autoride-just helping out. There is a thread around with wiring in resistors to clear the code. Have you looked at Arnott industries as they have good alternatives as well as factory replacements.

I wanted Air not reg. I guess I'll have to live with them till I get some cash to swap them out again. I did know there was a kit you could buy to trick the computer and my mechanic friend who I usually have work on my cars reminded me. I'll have to look for that thread when I"m more awake. It might save me money in the future.

Do your compressor and rear shocks work still? If so you will need to wire in a resistor.

If they are replaced with passive damping or compressor has failed just pull the the RTD fuse under the hood and then disconnect the battery for 15 mins. The service ride control msg will go a away because the RTD fuse will gone.
