Ok, I finally took mine off. Black Denali...you happy? NO PICS YET! What I did was get some 6mm set screws from home depot and some black body trim fasteners from oreillys. the problem is the body trim faster doesnt completely cover the brass fitting that the screw go in to. it looks a little better but i need a plastic fastener to go in the hole and come all the way down to the roof. does that make sense?

anyone got any ideas? know of any body trim pins that work to cover the hole entirely?

see if you can get some screws that fit flush and silicon those then maybe paint to match?

I have heard people doing that iirc.

I did the same thing but the ones I used are flat in the center then come down and cover the whole insert. Just gotta paint them white and I'm done. No pics right now.

original screws are too long.. don't even try to put them back in its just a tease you get all the way down and then there is just a little bit left.

I used set screws and put them down in the hole a couple cm's then took a bottle of touch up paint and dripped it in to form a puddle of paint.. did all of them and came back and did probably 2 more rounds to get it smooth looking.

best part is its now sealed and matches the roof :)

Sorry man...My covers only cover the top of the brass fitting. I siliconed them in place to ensure a tight fit. If you look you can still see the sides of the holes but thats not a big deal to me. If your looking to completely cover the holes I suggest painting them black and them putting the caps I have in there to keep water out....Depends on how bad they bother you  Couldn't be as bad as the roof rack bothers me though ;)

Go buy some 1" body side molding that closely matches the molding on the roof. That's what I used. You have to chamfer the molding where the screws are so the molding will sit flush. That's what I did on my Suburban. Now I don't have to look at the unsightly bolts.
