Got bored and impatient and hacked off the resonator. Gotta decide where to go from here with exhaust. Corsa Touring and ARH headers would be nice, but for that kind of money alot of things would be nice... :licklips: Thinking about muffler replacement and SLP tips, LT's down the road. Youtube link below, opinions/suggestion welcome!

Slap in a magnaflow muffler in place of the stock and either run a pipe to a tip exit out the back (like me) or buy the SLP / Volant tips! I think you are on the right path, a good exhaust note can be had on these trucks without a full kit.

slp resonator delete

I put on the SLP kit and am pleased with the look and sound. Hardly any difference in cabin level however that was what I was looking for since I like to listen to XM. Looking for louder level then swap out the main muffler.

That's what I love about the slp resonator delete kit is that it isn't any louder in the vehicle and still has a good tone to it. Especially since it is a dd.

Yes, those two motors are completely different animals. I would take the 6.2 over the 5.3 any day.

Its OK sound wise. Definitely like the sound better when idling. When driving it has a little more rumble, not too much. I'm definately no expert but I don't really see how you could have problems with the pipe cut off. The resonator has nothing to do with emissions, sound only. 07Burb has had his like this for a while and hasn't had any problems. I wanted Corsa for a while too but it really doesn't seem necessary. Seems like most guys are very happy with a muffler replacement and the SLP resonator replacement kit. I'll be putting that course of money towards some long tube headers with cats, this seems to be an often overlooked bottleneck

Here is the muffler for $100 with free shipping and I also have the slp tip and love the look and sound of it, definitely worth the $90 for that.

Do you go with 3" offset inlet, center outlet?

I only have the slp tip and stock muffler. The part number for the slp tip is the correct one.

63Blackseries,
What kind of problems are you referring to? I've had it cut like this for a few months now with no issues. Sounds pretty good to. I'm also looking to upgrade the muffler. Thinking of a Maggy.

Like if there would be any exhaust fumes making its way into the cab, if i didn't have a pipe and tip, But to late now i just went ahead and cut it off, Sounds pretty good ill probably enjoy this for a little while i still love how the Corsa Sport sounds though or just get the magnaflow and see how i like it before spending big bucks on the Corsa.
