Hey all,
I had my pump die a few years ago and it seems it died again. The first time i did it the lock ring didn't make a tight seal as the metal ring on the gas tank its self was pretty rusted. So I just never filled the tank all the way.
So now I want to do this right by getting a new tank. however it seems nobody sells the tank for 97 tahoe 4DR 4WD 5.7L. I see that Rock Auto sells the 2DR 30 gal tank. I think the one i have is 26 Gal.
Any hoo I was thinking I could ditch the spare tire and use the 2DR tank that rock auto sells? any one done this before?
I don't want to look for an used tank since that would likely have the same problem.
Also it seems the clip that the tank strap bolts have broken and just spin when I try to undo the bolts. So I need to remove the drive shaft to cut the bolts.
