I see no less than 4 load resistors in that kit, and since we all know you don't need them for led reverse bulbs, what are they for? I know you need them for the brake lights so cruise will work but why 2 for each tail light?

Its for the turn signals, the turn signals will hyper flash becuz it thinks they are burnt out becuz they are not pulling enough juice. I think the resistor on the brake light for the cruise is only like a pre-02 thing also.

Then how come every one said when they did leds that they needed resistors.
On the brake light bulbs so cruise will work. But I didn't need any for hyperflashing on the turn signals which are sometimes needed. But never for reverse lights.

No it was just 2. The 2 resistors on each are part of one assembly for each side. The tails themselves have resistors built in.

Not gonna sell that puppy! Haha it took slot of work to get that there and right it'd staying! Haha. Where would I find a shop that would vinyl that? I don't even know where to look for that! Lol
Usually stereo and ot tint shops. Or commercial sign shops. They usually charge $75-100 for a set of tails. So don't let them rob you. I know cali is vheap, so 40 is good, 50 fair, I wouldn't pay more than 60 tho. They can't use the excuse of wrapping hard curves and dips with the 3rd like they can with headlights and tails

A lot of post firing off right now lol. Id wrap the 3rd myself cant be too hard and vinyl is fairly cheap so u can try and try again. And there are 4 total resistors on those, they are for the turn signals.

Interesting thought. I will have to look into that now haha. On the other topic now I feel dumb for buying the load resistors for my led reverses.

Dont sweat it man, shit happens, u live and u learn. I was just trying to save u a couple bucks and didn't want u to melt anything with those resistors becuz they get really hot when functioning. Even though they probably wont get hot on the reverse bulb but better safe than sorry especially if they are not needed.

Good to know! I'll pull them in the morning and see what happens. Didnt think about cruise controlled. Kinda worried abo it having issues with that though now. But the new tails have resistors built in so should I be worried?

Ull be good with those tails, as far as cruise goes.

If you use an LED compatible flasher, you don't need resistors for the turn signals, but you will probably need one on at least one brake light to allow the cruise to work. I only installed one load resistor (the left side) and my cruise control works again.

Needing a load resistor on the brake lights entirely depends on the way the engineer designed the circuit for the tail lights.
If they built in a full wave bridge rectifier for the brake light circuit (that is what makes the any of the aftermarket LEDs polarity insensitive, and allows the alternating flash feature of the side maker lights up front when you have your parking lights on), you won't need it.
If they decided to save a few cents on each light, you will need one.

No such thing as easy. So irritated right now. So my passenger side led tall, the c shape stays light and the square block of LEDs flash for turn signals when the lights are engaged. On the drivers side both he c shape and the square block flash for turn signal. noticed it last night. This morning, while switch is in auto and there's no lights staying on during the day, both c shape and square block on both sides flash the same for turn signal. Can't figure out in the evening when lights are engaged why they are flashing differently.

Switch the lights side-to-side (have someone hold them or sit them inside the cargo area if possible since you can't mount them) to see if it's the lights or your truck. If the problem follows the light then you know they're defective.

Like this ? It's on a silvy but same concept, should be exactly. Did you install resistors ?

Maybe you have the brake light plugged into the turn signal plug on one side, idk, just takin a guess
