What are you trying to accomplish? The caps are chromed plastic, held on with clips and double-sided tape. You might be able to remove them and reinstall them, but if you're going to put color matched ones on you can be a bit rough removing them. If you get new ones you can see where the clips are located before you remove the old ones. I used a flat head screwdriver to remove mine, just pry up at the corner areas and be careful to not damage the rest of the mirror.

Ah, so the stock caps are no longer on there, saw the clips your talking about, thought maybe these were taped on the stockers, just want to remove the chrome and go back to stock

They are stock caps. They either come chrome or paintable. Someone must have removed the color matched ones and replaced them with chrome ones.

Thanks, so Escalades and Denalis had the paintable caps?

I believe so although they are all interchangeable. Like so many of our parts!

They look like the cheap ebay caps that just peel and stick. I don't think eskys came with chrome caps.

Try removing the clips. You can see in your picture they don't fit perfectly flush with the line.

Yeah they don't look factory. I have seen some of the eskys with chrome like that but theyre not flush like The factory runs are. I think they look better with color matched ones. I also like the look of the entire mirror color matched.

I found a set of mirror caps that Dorman makes they come in black, prolly gonna get those pop them on and try to find some OEM ones in a junkyard tried GM but you need to buy the whole mirror

I'm confused. If the dorman ones are gloss black and your ride is black, why not pick those up and then you wouldn't have to go to a junkyard.

Lol I said I'm gonna get those just not sure how good a quality they will be still might need to hit the junkyard one day, some of the Dorman stuff for the OBS Tahoe's weren't too great

You can buy replacement chrome caps for our mirrors, and the Eskys use the same part.
