first you have to remove the trim around the rear hatch top & bottom, then the rear pillars, then rear side panels come off
there are youtube video's, it's essentially been the same process since 00.
beware of a couple hidden screws on the rear pillars, they usually have a small cover that comes off first then you can access the screw

Before removing the covers, did you check your truck jack compartment? Make sure that the jack and handle are firmly secured in place, as that 'may' be the source of your rattle.

I am having the exact same issue with rattling noise. It seems to come from the rear passenger side. I thought may be seats are loose but when I shook them they were fine. Rattling noise comes on even when I am at low speed. Very frustrating!

does it sound like a metallic rattle? I noticed that it comes from the rear passenger side.I narrowed it down to the rear window panel. If I just tap it, it makes a metallic rattle. Not sure hired to get to it. Anyone know how to remove those panels?

Same issue here. Looks like this is a recurring problem. I'm having the same issue as everyone here. Except in my case, the rear window area screeches over any type of bump. Super loud and annoying. There's also this loud "clank" sound that happens when going over any large bump. It's coming from the same area, though can't be sure if it's internal or external. It sounds like metal-on-metal or metal-on-glass.

I've confirmed these noises are NOT the liftgate or any component thereof. My wife sat in the back while I drove, and determined the screeching/squeaking sound to be coming from the rear right pillar where the speaker is in the rear (D-pillar?). She was able to get it to stop screeching by applying pressure to it. She wasn't able to determine the loud "clank" sound though.

I'm going to rip apart the rear trim this weekend and see what I find. I have not found any YouTube videos which show exactly how to remove the rear panels in a 2015-2020 model. Can anyone post if you found any?
