That seems to jive with what others are seeing. Just for kicks, I put my 2010 on cruise at 40mph on level ground and saw 25-26 mpg on the instant read. That drops to 20-22 at 75 mph. I have seen 21 mpg on the 150 mile round trip to our cottage (100% freeway/highway with 4 stop signs each way).We are currently on a short family trip and I did the driving today. The most non aggressive, slow accelerating, fuel sipping, no more than 5 mph over the speed limit driving that is possible. Wife annoyed with the slow rate of travel kind of driving. Mostly 50 mph two lanes but a touch of 70 on the freeway, almost all flat ground with very few hills. After 140 miles the dash readout says 19.2 mpg and I feel it would be pretty difficult to squeak much more out of a 5.3 than that.
So lets talk about that. If its a “meaningless” feature then why did gm put it in the vehicle? Oh same goes for DFM.i get upper 20s in my 5.3 at times (50mi average). But you are correct, it is (mostly) meaningless. When I am getting that, it is typically a 50mi stretch that is all "downhill" (descending from the Oregon high desert towards the Columbia River.
Hell no its not a diesel. Im getting low 20’s on my 5.3 on avg. Dont hate me cause im getting better gas mileage than you. Do you want me to lie to you so you can sleep better at night? Is it a diesel? Otherwise the DIC is lying to you. No way you are getting 50% better mileage than anyone else on here.
Exactly thats what you dont realize, you think its instant. Show me how you reset it on a 21. Maybe on a 2010 u can. That seems to jive with what others are seeing. Why don't you give us a 1 or 2 week average instead of a tiny snipet under optimal conditions? BTW, my 21mpg was the average for the 150 mile trip, notan instant reading during it.So lets talk about that. If its a “meaningless” feature then why did gm put it in the vehicle? Oh same goes for DFM.
Maybe you are speaking for yourself because I hate people speaking on my behalf and what you say is partly true. Give me a hwy in the United States of America that is 50 miles down hill. On my trip I was on flat ground with the stupid DFM kicking in and that avg likes to go up.

To me it seems there may be some buyers remorse in this thread.
dude what's with the anger? I'm pretty sure no one really cares what mileage you are getting. So lets talk about that. If its a “meaningless” feature then why did gm put it in the vehicle? Oh same goes for DFM.

It's the same screen where you get the controversial 50 mile best number from. I had to go through the settings and turn it on as it wasn't appearing when I'd toggle through the different options. I changed mine to record the best from 450 miles, which is about the fuel range of a 5.3 (mine says 475 when full) and after 275 miles it says the best is 21 mpg. This tank of gas the average has been hovering right around 18.2 so slightly better than the lifetime average that remains dead on at 17.5Is there a live mpg screen on the '21 like on the '19, all I find is an average mpg on the trip screen
Wasn’t a fluke, here is the return trip and the total, super happy with this!!6.2 l Yukon XL Denali. Stock 22” Wheels/Alenza Tires
Just took my first “road trip” in what I would call summer-like conditions. 200 Miles from Rochester MN to Near Willmar MN, mix of divided highways and 2 lane highways, plus through the Minneapolis/St Paul area on I-494. Not much wind, generally flat terrain, temp 78F
Avg: 20.8 MPG. 54.5 MPh. 92 Octane from Costco. More than pleased with this.
I didn't use a casio, I used the calculator built in my iPhone, but that calc was as follows:Many posts have indicated the only “real” way to check your mileage is using your Casio calculator and fuel receipt. The info screens only give you a warm fuzzy feeling, kinda similar to the feeling your salesperson gave you as you left the lot.
