Ok I just got my brand new 2011 black Hoe. Now it has the standard wood grain trim package on the dash and around the light switches in the doors. I was wondering if anyone had or knows where to get replacement trim that would match the silver brushed aluminum look around the air vents and in the steering wheel. I am just not into the whole wood grain look. If anyone has pictures and can point in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Oh by the way, if you want some wood grain let me know, because I will be pulling mine out hopefully. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I know what you're saying. It seems that General Motors polled some people that are 110 years old on average -- all ten of them -- and decided the fake wood look was "in" with that age group. Then with their genius marketing department, General Motors decided fake wood would be loved by everyone else. :emotions122:

I have to agree, aluminum trim looks so much better now. But if GM really wanted to push the wood trim, they should have just gone for the real thing and made it an option or something.

Anyway to the thread starter, if you're still looking for a dash trim insert, here you go and good luck with your mod :)

Ironman, I like that link and I was leaning towards doing that stuff. Has anyone used that cover up and how did it work out. Thanks for all the ideas guys and keep them coming. Pics would help me decide too.

Have you tried to find the Z71 OEM trim? I think you can find it on gmpartsdirect.com.

Below is what my stock Z71 looks like.

Yes brush metal look and the trim pieces on the door panels are the same.

For OEM it looks good especially with the dual tone seats that were standard on the Z71s (I think 2007 and 2008).

I did mine in carbon fiber vinyl...the 3m di-noc that is used for vehicle wraps, cost me all of $25.00 and I did the install myself.

Hey dudes,
Anyone know the price of the Z71 silver trim? All the pieces, dash, radio bezel surround, doors, etc - all wood gone.

GM part numbers would really hook me up. I hope the whole kit is 1 number...

Thanks!

If you have a 2010 or 2011 Tahoe, your answer is probably going to be in this topic: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28511 .

Look for my posts to find the total price. The actual parts numbers are listed in one of my posts dated 08-15-11.

I would second the auto vinyl wrap stuff and try that first. If it's good enough to wrap an entire car and stand up to the elements, sure seems like it would hold up with interior trim.

2008s couldn't be that different I would guess

I believe the only two parts that may be different are going to be the driver side front door switch bezel and the passenger side front door switch bezel. I think the shape changed slightly on those two items after 2009, as best I remember from my research.
