So last week I was asking about a replacement sub for the MTX. Turns out the sub isn't blown, the box itself was loose. After re-securing the box, the sub sounds okay.

Issue I have now is that the panel in the back vibrates pretty harsh at volume. I think that's actually a more annoying sound than when the sub was loose. I was thinking I would Dynamat (or similar) the inside of the panel itself to stop the vibration, but before I did I wanted to ask the gurus here if that will actually make a difference. I don't want to go through the trouble if the thought is that it will not work, not that I'd have to spend a lot to do it anyway.

Anyone else have a similar issue with the plastic panels vibrating?

Resonance and rattles are different.

Rattles occur between 2 moving parts. Resonance occurs among the part.

Deadener for Resonance.

I would simply stick a piece of soft foam, cardboard or anything discreet enough between the panels. I have actually tacked some with hot glue.

Whatever you want to do to make it stop really...lol

Gotcha, so I'd be better off with any cheap foam (Great Stuff anyone? :) ) between the panel and the box then Dynamat.

I haven't actually sat there to see where the rattling is coming from. I'm sure it's the sub (technically the air moving) that's causing it. Maybe I'll get lucky and find it's just a clip or something I missed when re-installing the panel.

it will 'deaden' the sound if you did attach it to the inner panel, but not stop the two rattling.

Ensolite foam (closed cell foam) Is good for stuffing between panels to eliminate rattles.

I've also used weatherstripping/gasketing tape with good results.

Great stuff foam isn;t so great... messy to apply and difficult to remove.
