Rattle from Exterior Above Tail Light

I have a rattle from the body piece above the drivers side tail light. I mentioned it to the dealer and their fix was "new part..." which is of course nice because it'd need to be painted as well. It only seems to rattle/buzz in particular cross-winds but when it does it's absolutely beyond irritating. I took it apart and it looks like a cheap plastic clip from the lower side of the molding was broken but the rest of the clips were in fine shape and the entire molding is secure.

Anyone else encounter this and if so is there a way to tape/secure/sound deaden it?

The clip is broken on the applique, at least is was in my situation.

So is the only option replacement?

If all the pieces are there you try gluing it back together.
