I have an 04 Denali with the digital climate control and rear HVAC. Now that it's starting to get cold out I figured it was about time to fix my climate control issues. I tried the recalibration (set to auto, pull fuse for 1 min, insert fuse, run truck for 2 mins, key of then restart is less than 30 seconds) and it didn't work. I only get air coming out of the defrost and floor vents no matter what The controls are set to. My rear HVAC only blows cold air and I've seen the write ups but haven't had a chance to diagnose control module or actuator. My last issue is the rear climate control doesn't stay on. I can turn it on but not get it to do anything and it turns itself off after a few seconds.
I'm guessing I have a bad actuator in the front system so does anyone know which actuator controls which vents the air blows from? Does anyone have a writeup for testing the rear controller and actuator? I couldn't find any test procedures. I'm out of ideas on the HVAC controls in the back of the console unless it's got something to do with having removed the Rear entertainment system and/or having an aftermarket DD head unit.
