What's up guys? I have an 01 Yukon 4x4 summit white that i bought from a family member 4 months ago. It has stock everything so am starting from scratch as far as any Mods I do to it. I have pin stripping that was painted on and I want to remove it. Does anyone know how I can remove this or am I just SOL? Also, If this was your ride what would be the first mod you would do? I'm thinking of tinting the windows first and going from there. I'm not sure what mods I want to do but know that very little will be done the the engine. I will probably do either a CAI or a high performance air filter and possibly an exhaust upgrade. I will take a picture and post in the next couple of days. Let me know what you guys think. I know what size wheels/tires I'm going to get, thanks to tybardy. I'm a rookie when it comes to mods and such but I have an uncle on my wife side that can do any mod I want as he has done many of late model cars and trucks that he bought. Any input would be great.

debadge and demold it. Very easy to do and for me it was free. 6 hi mod is easy, 1.50 for it. Just go to the tech section to see what I am talking about. There are plenty of threads to show you how to do each step by step. Welcome to the forum!

The first thing I do when i buy a used vehicle is to change all the fluids, plugs, wires, etc. All the stuff you would normally do for a tune up. That way you know when it was done for sure. Not really a mod but you should always make sure your shit is running top before modding.

I'm with 92, do a tune up first and foremost just to make sure you've got a good base to start with. No point in modding a truck that doesn't have basic maintenance stuff up to par. Maybe this isn't a huge concern for you since it was a family member's vehicle, but I don't like taking chances you know?

After that, PM Max for an AEM brute force intake, and look into getting a cable tune from Black Bear Performance. Maybe an aftermarket muffler if you're looking to free up the exhaust a little. Those are the basic performance mods that most of us do.

After that, it's all up to you. Definitely tint the windows, and maybe look into getting some smoked LED tails?

getting it tuned up tuesday. replaced the fuel filter in Oct, the fuel pump in november. I removed the fender flares because they didn't look good but now I have to have some touch up painting done where the flares used to be, having that done in jan. thanks for the tips, i don't know why but i'm trying to tell myself i don't really need a cai but from what i have read on some of the threads i think i need to go ahead and do it. i will PM Max when I'm ready. looking forward to getting some ideas from this forum, i get chills looking at some of the pictures on here, you guys have some nice looking hoes, yuks and eskys. Peace!

+1 on the debadging and demolding. Free mod. Now you can't beat that. Would diffenently tint, that is a cheap mod, that adds miles to your vehicle, also rims make a car. 6-hi mod, again like stated simple and cheap. HID kit, go OEM, but if don't want to pay out, just get crappy PnP kit. don't know about everyone else, but the Tahoe headlights SUCK, not sure about Kons, or if you already have projectors. HID would be on the top of my list after getting them now, but you gotta get projector headlights, otherwise you'll just blind people, or do retro, which is sick.Color matching, or chroming, whatever your flavor is. lowering is always nice, but now I'm just going off. Step by step you'll figure out what you want. To each there own, and just do you!! But there are universal mods that just must get done!! PERIOD. IMO
