Question about door trim

I can't think of the name, but I want to remove the plastic trim on the middle of the door. Is it just 2 sided tape, are there holes to plug. I had only left them on for parking lots and such but it doesn't seem to help much anyways. No matter how far away you park some a-hole parks as close as they can and bangs up your shit

it's 3M adhesive, you can heat and pull them off like debadging.
