Putting Belltech 5305s to the test

Got the springs, put the hoe up on stands tonight. They read "5305-001" on the sides but I think they're not the correct springs. They measure out to 15.75 inches tall, I'm really scratching my head right now..i dropped panhard, the sway links and still cant get the axle down far enough to stuff the coils in...they seem too tall??

The Mgaughys measure 12inches tall, obviously they fit just fine lol

Like Max said, force them in. I'm pretty sure they are shorter than your stock coils, so regardless they would have to fit in there

And I assume you diconnected the shocks too first.

PROGRESSIVE RATE ftw! The coils don't develop their tension until the middle of the spring's travel unlike the tiny springs that ride stiff as shit all the time. Here are the djm 5" next to my stock coils and they dropped my truck the same amount as the 5305s, trust me the shit will be low and ride exponentially better

As you can see they have some settling to do.

Haha I never noticed my DJMs were that short, think they measure around 10" haha.
Funny how it looks like it takes two DJM coils to equal the height of the stockers.

My Pedders front coils on the strut settled so hard that the first 3 wounds literally sat on each other haha.
About how much do the 5305s settle after the truck is let down on them Max? Reason I ask is because I have to run atleast one of the isolators (thinking thicker top one) in mine to make sure after settling they equal the DJMs with both isolators installed, me no want Cali Lean again?

Aite well I did a hack squat and they're in. Guna put this thing back together and go for a drive...still don't believe these will settle down. I am putting my money on Max's advice tho aparently

Oh one question, do they perform any better if the tighter coils go in closer to the body or the axle? In other words, does it matter if they are upside down or right side up for better handling?

I'm halfway excited over here Boss, tell us how it rides upon arrival back to the house.
And I am almost sure they will settle, 5305 coils are 5305, desite the -*** numbers, and too many in the NBS section have used them and they worked.

If you could feel the stupid jittering my truck does you'd be VERY excited LOL!

I'm seriously considering replacing the Tbars up front too...we'll see where it's at here in about an hour

I forgot to measure honestly, but it looks a little higher but I'll take that for now and wait to see how they settle in.

Boss, if you are still shaking/vibrating, you may want to check component of the drivetrain.
Do you sit up to 1/2" higher than before?

so the question im looking for is ........ what is the best rear drop coil to go with for a 5 inch drop or whatever ... im looking to do the 3/5 drop but want a good nice ride and wanna be low .. so what do i go with .. which company? belltech..djm..the trailblazer springs? let me know asap so i can poder them and which model number and the best place to buy them for a good price .. thanks in advance guys..

I really like my 4230 but you have to remove the bumpstop bracket (I'd honestly recommend it for any drop 3"+ on these trucks). The 5305 springs ride fantastic but I wanted a bit more drop and a little stiffer springrate since I enjoy driving fast. Belltech makes the best springs for these trucks
