Planning on getting PPF put on the front end of my 23 Denali - What I'm torn on is how much to put on. I kinda feel like the whole hood and all of the front fenders is overkill, and am leaning towards a partial kit (roughly 1/3rd hood and front of the fenders, front fascia and a pillars. am I making a mistake not doing the whole front? partial PPF kit and full 3 year ceramic coating going to run about 2800 bucks by the quote I got. Full kit would put it closer to 4500.

I had mine redone from the partial to full coverage. the line on partial always seems to show more and more after it get a little age on it.

Full PPF is pretty damn expensive, especially for a full sized suv. I’m getting PPF on the hood, bumper and side mirrors. Ceramic for the rest.

I know this is an older thread...but do you remember what you paid for full hood ppf? I was quoted $1k the other day for just the hood. Seemed a little high to me but not sure. thanks

Yes, they serve two different functions. Ceramic coating doesn't really protect you against scratches & chips (it does help a tiny bit, but not that much). It makes the paint more slippery so that water beads off and dirt/bugs/etc. don't stick as hard (a foam cannon + light wipe is all it takes to get of 99% of the bugs for me). Makes it shinier; gives it "pop." PPF is like a suit of armor. More protection against scratches/chips/etc. but over time may not have quite the same "pop" as well-maintained ceramic.
