Popped my Seafoam cherry

I was definately worried about pouring mine into my engine and oil, it took me over two weeks to get around to doing it even. But decided even though cold and snowy it was time to just do it. Quite a bit of smoke came out when i started it up, performance wise im not sure yet if there s a improvement, some people they can instantly tell a diference, if there was a difference mine was more subtle than others. My tahoe is an 2002 with 111k miles on it.

i did mine almost a month ago. is there any harm in doing it again? this time i want to add some to the oil and drive it a good bit before my upcoming oil change.

Seafoam in Oil???

What about if you use a synthetic. Any issues. I run MOBIL 1 full synthetic 5w-30 and would love to do this treat several hundred miles before I do a change.

the oil shouldnt matter. i was wonderng if theres any drawbacks to doing the seafoam twice in 1 month. only wanna do it to add some to the oil

It shouldn't hurt anything to do it again. You do run the risk of fouling the plugs when you use seafoam, but you have to have ALOT of shit in your engine to get it to that point.

I first did seafoam at 100K miles, and it smoked a ton. I replaced my spark plugs and everything then too (I did a full 100K tune up). The plugs didn't look fouled, but were pretty damn old. Saw a slight improvement in throttle response and MPG.

I seafoam every spring now just to keep the engine from getting too dirty. I suck in the foam, turn off the motor, and pull the TB to clean it while the truck is sitting. Gives the stuff plenty of time to work. Slap the TB back on with a fresh gasket and go for a drive. Seems to work pretty well.

You don't have to take it off to clean it, it just makes it a hell of alot easier. If you just take your intake off you can get to it, then it's just like 3 or 4 bolts that hold it on. You can clean it without taking it off though. Spray some deep creep or other type of throttle body cleaner into it (behind the butterfly), let it work for 15 minutes or so, then use a nylon cleaning brush to clean the carbon off. It'll be a little more challenging with it still on the truck since you have to hold the butterfly open, but I've done it twice.

Up to you. Not gonna hurt anything if you don't clean it out, but might boost your mileage and throttle response a little if you do. It all depends on how dirty it is to begin with.

Put seafoam in my gas tank last night. For those of you that have done it this way, do you recall what you noticed and how long did it take. I had a tune up last week so didn't want to risk fouling up my new plugs.

i woulda done it before the tune but youre ok. you shouldnt see any smoke from putting it in the tank.

Put a can in the tank of the Yukon I bought and drove it from NC to Orlando, Fla.....didn't have any problems nor have I had any since.

I pulled 3 plugs when I got back and they looked fine......

The only reason I did the Seafoam strictly through the tank, was the fact that the dealership I had it at before my trip for warranty work, suggested an injector cleaning service. $185.....thought I'd spend $8 instead.

I did the 1/2 in the tank, 1/2 through the vacuum on my tahoe back @ 90K, and changed plugs and wires after that, but the plugs that came out didn't look bad at all.
