Ordering a new black Cargo Security Shade for my incoming '23 Suburban High Country and wanted to be sure that it's a simple drop-it item, that the 4 attachment points are already pre-formed into the vehicle's plastic interior trim.

I've browsed hundreds of Yukon, Tahoe and Suburban photos but their cargo-area interior shots seem to focus on the under-mat storage and the power outlet.

Thank you !

unless they changed something from the last 30 years then yes it's plug-n-play
the only difference would be maybe if you ordered one for a tahoe instead of a suburban as the lengths are not the same on the vehicles I am not sure if one size fits all in that regards or not.

Great news ! I'll place my order today. BTW, the Shop Chevy Parts site shows the Suburban black shade part # to be the same as Tahoe. They're what, about 20 inches difference ?

I was told that at least for the 2015-2020 body style that it simply wasn't a difference in length of vinyl between short and long wheelbase models but also in length of the mounting bar. Although the long wheel base body is no wider, it mounts in a different location in the cabin due to having more second row leg room and thus seats are pushed back a few inches.

Yeah, it's a 30 second drop in item. I've had mine in and out several times for various reasons. Haven't checked, but LWB vs. SWB may be one part number since mine i guess would work fine in a Yukon. It just wouldn't need to be extended as far, leaving some material in the rolled up portion.

That is what I'd think but I was told the length of the rigid rod is different.

It is on the earlier generations because of the HVAC housing butting right up to the back of the 2nd row seats.

Hmm, Amazon prime has a couple aftermarket GM-style "1 size fits all" security shades with fitment across several Caddy's, both Yukon's, Suburban and Tahoe for $119-135 (OEM is $195 shipped) .. should I risk it ?

Your already paying more than half for the aftermarket one, so at that point just order the proper OE one from GM and know it will be the correct fitment and not have to hope you can make the amazon one fit/ or ship it back for refund.

I keep thinking that if I buy/install the aftermarket shade, and later I hear a some squeaking or rubbing noises.. that I will blame the Amazon shade and then go order the OEM shade anyway.

My salesman just texted saying the transport company didn't deliver my Suburban to them over the weekend, and since the out of state dealership is driving it down to me here in Georgia, it may be another 2 weeks before I get it

I read that

Reminds me back 22 years ago when I had a ML430 Benz with a security shade that would flap or buffet when I was driving with the windows down or on uneven road surfaces, but quiet as a church mouse when it was coiled up.

I'm older now, retired and living in the country where I don't often buy supplies that require hiding from prying eyes.. so I'm thinking that my incoming Suburban's shade will prolly stayed coiled up most the time

Honestly, till the end of the year, the GM accessories site for your brand (Chevy.com and hit accessories) has 10-25% off depending on your purchase amount. I bought my floor liners and cargo shade last year this time and got the shade for basically free…and if you have it shipped to the dealer the shipping is free and you just pick it up…

Today after some thought and consideration I ordered the Amazon Prime shade for 1/3 less than OEM, my CC and shipping info is already on file with Amazon so was literally 3 mouse clicks and done.

I polly have 30-days if I need to return it (free) and I might not use the shade often anyway.

I appreciate y’all’s insights and suggestion, and I’ll post a photo along with my thoughts once both the shade and Suburban arrive !!
