onstar problems

Been a month or two since I purchased a 07 yukon xl. Just now getting around to setting up the onstar. However the people at onstar says my yukon is not sending info to them and want me to take it in to the dealer, but can talk to them via onstar. Any one have any suggestions on what may be wrong and how to fix. And will the onstar system be covered any sort of warranty. Yukon has 54K miles.
