Considering something to add boost to my truck. 2009 Tahoe LT w/5.3. So far have lowered 1.5" and added a Gibson Catback dual exhaust system.

I haven't been able to locate a name brand nitrous system specifically for a 2009 Tahoe, but thought about a chip/tuner...but I have never installed one, so I do not know what they offer for performance.

Thanks to anyone willing to assist in this mod.

Go with a blackbear tune and you will not be disappointed. A chip or a handheld tuner is a waste of money for the most part but Blackbear can custom make a tune for your Tahoe. They are a vendor with this site and have an ad over on the right hand side if you want to click around. They also have their own designated sub forum if you'd like to ask them specific questions about getting a tune on your Tahoe :waytogo:

Spray vs a tune is like apples to oranges lol

You can spray on the stock tune but it would be best to get a no2 tune if you plan to spray alot...
A dry setup would start at around $250 from nitrous outlet..A wet kit runs a few hundred more...
A tune from Justin start at $250 i think...

Why the HELL do you want nitrous in your Tahoe?! That's absurd.

Your motor will explode with nitrous... not even kidding.

What do you guys base this information off of?? Really...

There are plenty of stock bottom end lsx motors running nitrous without problems.. Alot of blown no2 motors come down to having a bad tune ( to much timing, not enough fuel/lean condition)...

It depends on the size and type of shot, but on a stock motor, it wouldn't be worth it.

You're exactly right. Is this meant to be a drag truck or street? Why spend the time AND $ to maintain a NOS system that with very small abnormalities will grenade the motor when you can add a BB tune that can enhance the all around performance of the vehicle? Sounds like a no brainer to me, but that's just me

I just don't understand the point of having NOS unless you plan on racing it  BB Tune enhances performance and overall driveability of the ride while NOS gives you instant HP with a push of a button which is more ideal for racing.

Guy asked a question i answered it..You saying its gonna blow the motor up doesnt offer a lick of help..If you reread my first post in this thread i did suggest a no2 tune to go along if he was going to spray... :)
The op never stated what he wanted to do with the truck anyhow...

Defensive much???:893Chainsaw-Smilie-

He stated he was looking at NO2 kits which would tend to mean he was considering installation of same, although it seemed to me he was asking whether he should consider a tune alternatively??
