I also thought the nittos were a little noisy but I never got bubbles.
I bet I drive harder and tow heavier things than most of the people who have had problems with these tires. It seems like it's the luck of the draw. Reputable tire shops like discount tire and Firestone put these nittos on our trucks all the time. It's odd that they are not rated for our trucks.

Also Remember Bigger Rim=Less tire side wall and are more prone to Sidewall damage and bubbles. My brother has a set of 20 on his pathfinder with skinny tires. He ran over a chunk of asphalt from a construction zone and caused a bubble in one of his tires.

Its a 2012 with 35000 mile. I doubt that it is a bad hub although anything is possible. I have a new set of toyo proxes sitting in the corner I was getting ready to put on my truck. I guess I will put the nittos on my truck and the toyos on the wifes Tahoe. I will be curious what the inside of the tire will look like when he dismounts them. I will keep you all posted. Thanks for all your replies.

I'm on my 2nd set of 420s (275/40/22) and I've had no howling issues or excessive noise I could attribute to the tires besides a little more road noise when my first set was worn out. I got ~60k out of my first set...got ~10k on this set. Been super happy with this tire. I don't tow or haul heavy loads. Even when my alignment was out.

It's the tread pattern of the tires. I'm on Nitto 285/45r24 and it howls just a little. I set my psi around 45psi so I don't pinch the sidewalls

420s are known for this. You need to rotate them quite often or they get a chop on the outside of the tread.

They are a great tire, aside from the chop issue.

That may be why mine aren't noisy. I rotate them every 6k.

Define "quite often". Is that every 3k, 6k, 10k? Just curious.
