Well recently I learned about how easy it is to steal GM NNBS truck/suv's. As of now my Nathan K3 is hooked up to the oem alarm so when its set off that blows with it, so im not worried about it not being loud haha. What i want to do is add a the viper glass break sensor to the factory unit. And before i get ahead of myself i trying to plan out how its installed and were the OEM alarm unit location is.

any help would be appreciated

it is actually the BCM that acts as the controller when it see a door open with out a key-less entry signal or key turn first it will respond when it sees a door ajar signal from any door. you need to wire a sensor trigger that makes the bcm think someone has opened a door so when armed it treats it as a alarm trigger. you will also need a way to power that sensor only when armed. the bcm is in the dash right sitting up. a door module with the triiger circuits for door and keys is in each door.

Why not just get the shock and inclination sensors from GM Accessories. You can install it, but dealer needs to program it.

Well lets look at this from a scientific perspective. whats more efficient. A shock sensor or a glass break sensor.

what sensor will protect against the most scenarios of a vehicle break in.

and how do they program that gm accessory, like via OBD2. Cause im having problems getting any OBD2 handheld to read the car.

Actually I think a perimeter radar sensor would do better if you can get one. Glass looks for high frequency so it won't feel body bumps and the shock sensor may not be sensitive enough to hear glass breaking with out maybe falsing over windy conditions. A proximity sensor go off when something come to close weatherb it is a shopping basket, person or glass shattered inside the vehicle. To gloat a have those sensors and more. Since my OBS does not have one from the factory andba keyless entry system I don't use, I found great to get an Clifford avantguard 5 that when wire spliced in and programmed the right way, The options and features are many and great. If want some diverse options it may be better to disable the oem one and integrate and advanced aftermarket one. Each sensor can be tuned to do its specific job.

You forgot to talk about the inclination sensor. It's suppose to sound the alarm if somebody breaks your window.

As for how the dealership programs it, I'm not sure. You should probably ask them.

Also included in the Clifford avant guard.

It can be done but if you want to take full advantage if all its features it is going to get pretty involved. You are looking at about 70-80 wire hooks so unless you are really into this stuff it is best to leave it to dealer and it might get pricey. I did my own in my obs. But for the money you will get door, trunk, good triggers, proximity, tilt, shock, anti cracking, remote start, three auxiliary outputs among other things. The window break sensor is about $30, smart power window controllers about $100 for each set of Windows plus install labor. Can even add battery backup for control modules TBI the siren has one built in. Oh extra siren option to. And to top it all off it can be completely fine tuned using a computer interface. I bought mine from amazon for $400 for all the parts before they got remove from the site as an unauthorized dealer.

uh-no. misleading sell point. never seen any tow truck stopped by turning the steering wheel to lock. and you don't need this device to do it any way. you just remove the key. To hell paying $500 for something that kills some wiring.
