New Poster With a Couple of Questions

I just bought a 2010 Yukon Denali Hybrid that will be here early next week. I wanted to ask a couple questions about the audio system that couldn't be answered by the seller.

First, it has the rear entertainment system with dvd. I wanted to know if there is anyway to watch a DVD without using the headphones and without running the sound through the speakers in the truck? I don't want to listen to Dora The Explorer and my kid won't wear headphones. Aftermarket solutions are ok if there are any, it's worth some extra money to me to keep everyone happy.

Lastly, this truck has the USB in the console. I tried to look up the manual online but this feature is left out of the versions I was able to find via a Google search. Can someone point me to a link that explains how to control my iPod/iPhone or if nothing exists online can someone take a few minutes and give me a brief overview of how this works? I'd really appreciate it. I am coming out of a 2010 Taurus SHO that had sync so I am hoping I can control my iPod through the head unit.

WHat about those Plug in speakers that use the headphone jack? I know they make them for cell phones , about the size of a Plum (odd reference I know) and put off some decent volume?

I thought about that but the headphones are wireless. Is there a 3.5 jack somewhere in the backseat area? I looked on the back of the console where the rear seat controls are and there are only RCA connections, no 3.5 mm jack.

those rca's are input. there's no headphone jack output. Unfortunately, there's no other option besides headphones or listening throughout the truck.

That's kind of what I was afraid of. I checked out your truck, that's pretty sweet looking. Was it hard to put in those Escalade taillights?

No kidding, it's just a direct swap eh? Do they use the same harness and everything? That's the only thing I don't like about the Denali is the taillights. My buddy owns a salvage yard, I could probably get a set on the cheap if it's an easy swap. I'm not super handy unfortunately.

OEM tails need a modified harness due to variances in the number of wires and resistance issues (from LEDs) that cause hyperflashing.

Nathan has the G5 replicas that plug in directly...... no modifications. You can get them from Egay seller Revotec.

it's a direct swap, but these are the replicas called G5's. They have a point on them then will not match up with your appliques above the tail lights unless you buy the Esky OEM appliques as well.

Cool thanks a lot. I found the taillights but I couldn't find the appliques, do you happen to have a link for them? I like this looks but I liked it a lot better when I thought my buddy could get me all this stuff for free.

Does anyone have any info on how the head unit controls my iPod? Truck won't be here till Wednesday

The appliques are just OEM Escalade appliques. Robbie (one of our vendors sells them)

The system is limited to the wireless headphones, unless the vehicle has the Rear Seat Audio (RSA) feature. If so, wired headphones or other wired audio output devices can be plugged into the jacks on the RSA. If your vehicle has this feature, please refer to pages 4-123 and 4-130 through 4-131 of the owner’s manual for additional instructions.

In regards to the operation of an iPod via the USB port, please refer to pages 1-17 and 1-18 for additional instructions.
