Just got a well used 08 Yukon xl Denali with a bad transmission. I knew it had issues when I bought it. So now I am searching for a replacement. But anyway, I have yet to own a GMC and my last American vehicle was a Cherokee (that got stolen). So I upgraded to something bigger to haul kids and a trailer with. Looking forward to learning what I can about this rig and make it run great.

Not gonna "run" great till you fix/replace the transmission to see how it actually runs. You can start it and see if the engine idles and revs though. Can you post some pics and vehicle/engine specifics?

Buy a new GM replacement transmission and torque converter. You may want an upgraded billet torque converter, if you plan on towing anything significant.

A BlackBear Performance tune is the best bang for your buck (~$800) to get the most out of your motor and 'new' transmission.

Hellwig front and rear sway bars (~$800) will dramatically improve the handling of that beast.
