need help with wheel size asap

i'm going with a 295/70/17 nitto terra grappler and lifting 3-4". will these wheels work for me? i dont want them sticking out too far but i also dont want them rubbing when i turn. the truck hardly ever goes off road and if it does, its just dirt...no serious wheeling. any advice is greatly appreciated! i'm looking to order these asap if they will work for me.

Those wheels have a +25 offset so they won't stick out at all. They'll be sucked into the fender wells quite a bit and your tires might rub. They make those wheels in a 16 with a -6 offset, which would be a better way to go.

damn. i was really hoping to go with 17's. what offset should i look for with 17's? also, do you see any issues running 295/70's with no more than 4" of lift?

295/70/17 would equate to roughly a 33" inch tire, so a 4 inch lift should be plenty, assuming its a true 4 inches.

they pop out an inch at most.... but it gives the yukon a nice n beefy look.

TXGMC those are sick! if i'm reading this correctly, you're running 33's with only a small crank and rear blocks? any rubbing issues? after seeing your pics i'm worried now that the tires will look small if i go up 4"

wide 33's will look fine with 4" of lift and it will be functional still.

yes, it just has the tortion lift and small rear blocks. the previous owner did it. I did have clearance issues but i modified the bumper. It only scrapes if i come to a rut with the wheels turned all the way... illl look for a pic of the cut i made to my bumper

its hard to see from this pic... but can you see the black line along the front bumper. its at an angle toward the front. I used an elec circular saw and lined with blue paint tape and drew a few angles. stepped back and started cutting. used a cardboard and put it behind the bumper and drew along the cut. Then i transfered it to the other side so that they would be the same. I lightly scraped the edges and spray painted them gloss black so that it looked like it was suppose to be like that. I think it came out rather well.

again, hard to see but that did it to clear the 33's. I didnt really wanna spend more on lifting it. besides, i got a set of 4.10s waiting to be fed to the differentials

this helps so much. i think i'm going to pull the trigger and get those 140's in polished with the terra grapplers. not completely sure on what to use for a lift but i'll figure that out while i wait for the wheels/tires. was considering the rcx 4" but i hate that its practically the same price as their 6". if i was going to go 6" i'd rather have the cepek kit! i did notice that rcx makes a 3" kit that is keys and control arms in front with blocks or leafs in back. i like that its half the price of the 4" kit but i dont know if its the right way to go. are there any other 4" kits out there that arent $1000?

i hear ya, it sucks that you have to get that front drive shaft for a lift.... i didnt wanna spend that much. Its got enough ground clearance for what i use it for. So, i think mines staying like this...

glad i could help you decide on wheels. Mine are superfinish/black. As you can see, there are black dashes on every spoke and the background of the wheel is black too. the polished ones are all "chrome" looking. I liked the super finish/black better... but thats all up to your taste

I'm in the same boat as you. I want to run 295/76r16's with a 4 inch lift. The tires work out to pretty much the same size. I've seen pics with this set up that look good and some that don't (tires look small). Check out Hapyspaz's tahoe. He's got pretty much that set up and it looks great.

Dumb question- If he got the 4 inch lift and the tires looked to small can you turn your torsion bars down ???? Like I said....dumb question.

you could but what would you do about the rear? it would be sitting higher than the front.

I only ask the dumb questions...not answer them. lol Maybe use a Block or AAL from the 2-3"kit.

i dont see why that wouldnt work. i'm going to just go ahead with the rcx 4" kit. hopefully it sits level or i'm going to have to do some cranking.

The back is easy to change. Do the front, figure out how much higher you need to go and get the AAL or block to fit. Remember, do not re-use the stock U Bolts.
