I am really torn. I have had two OBS Tahoes and loved them both. The NBS I am looking at may be too sweet of a deal to pass up tho. But with the nbs I am only gaining creature comforts. Because from what I hear and know about the 5.7 in the OBS, it is a better engine and just overall more trusted. I am not knocking the nbs by any means but I love the classic look. But who doesnt want all the amenities when the price is right? Acceleration could be a little better in my 5.7 but I know a few upgrades and that can be fixed. Is the NBS accelerate any quicker? But does the 5.3 feel and sound like the powerhouse that is the 5.7?

Also I will not hesitate to drive my OBS out into the field and hunt from the back barn doors with my cover over it. But I would in a NBS. Not sure what to do. Wish this deal wasnt offered in front of me by my friend. He is selling his and gave me a great deal if I want it. But the only thing that attracts me is the offer and the creature comforts. I have a two year old son who could benefit from a smoother ride or dvd player. But I can just buy him his own dvd player in the OBS i have now.

So torn...sorry to sound so selfish or greedy, but I am a tornado survivor and my friend is trying to give me an NBS tahoe basically for the price of my obs. Feel like I might lean that way.

What about the performance though? is it going to last as long? do all the creature comforts work forever? thats what i like about my obs because there isnt much "technology" to deal with ;-)

Take the nbs. The newer engine may be smaller but is more advanced and has more power. Creatures are goo to have to. if it is in better condition then the obs then go for it. You have suffered a lot of grief lately so do something good for your son and yourself. While it may be newer every model has its quirks. You just deal with them. I think it also might be easier to find upgrades for the newer as the rest of the parts industry moves forward. There are a few people near you I am sure that would want yours.

whats the price in mind with the miles?

the 5.3s are very reliable and power hungry motors. i like the OBS seats better (more comfy to me than the nbs)

z71 silver birch metallic

1 owner $5000.00 (price is irrelevant tho bc its just a for me price)

its flawless new tires

tint, dvd, buckets in the middle row, third row seats havent even been used. they've been in his garage since 30k

Or my other option is keep my OBS and buy a motorcycle for gas milage when I dont have my son

sounds like a decent deal to me. not a huge fan of the NBS interior but have been eyeing a 04/05 Tahoe Z71 to and from work everyday for a few weeks now :)

I have all the records. But i have all the record of mine too. and my obs I currently own I just bought 3 weeks ago. It has a brand new 5.7 engine in it. I have receipts from the local shop to prove it. has less than 10k on it. it has new drive shaft, ac compressor and of course anything tied to engine overhaul, plugs, wires, 02 sensors, exhaust even. the air works front and back. it works so well that even though its 105 degress here my son actually tells me hes cold after being in the truck for 20 mins.

I think i just need to stay where i am at. i have cash to lift it and put new tires on it. I am not a fan of the 17s that it has. they are nbs 17 wheels. i miss my 16 inch wheels. check my profile for my old tahoe

i also own it outright

An OBS with NBS drivetrain would be the ultimate, especially since the aftermarket for the LS motors is just amazing. But, if thats not an option, I would have to say NBS, better features and the newer motors are far superior compared the old 5.7. Dont get me wrong I love my Hoe and everything about, accept the motor (and suspension and steering, hah). If I had a 5.3 in place of my 5.7, it would be the ultimate vehicle. Which is why I'm putting together a 5.3 :) in the future.
