Nav system issue

I've seen some threads on here but they are older and I didn't see any solutions listed. The factory CD/DVD/Nav head unit in our 2009 Tahoe LTZ will not retain the search region when I set it. We are in region 10, Florida. When I set that region the system resets to I think region 1, I'd have to look again to be sure. In addition, regardless of what region it is set for, the clock consistently loses an hour. I can set the proper region, set the clock and after a short stop when it's started up, the clock and region are wrong again.
If it were a phone or PC I'd delete the cache files but I don't have that option. I disconnected the battery for 45 minutes thinking that might force a reset but it did nothing. I found a thread on her that gave info on going to menu, display and pulling up a setting screen with a pin pad. I entered the code listed in the thread and did access a menu. As it said in the thread page 2 allowed for setting the clock. That did not fix it. There is a memory dump option in that menu. When I selected it there were a lot of 1's & 0's and what literally looked like other coding. I did not see any kind of an erase/delete button on the screen so I haven't done anything with it. Out of desperation I may try to figure out how to clear that, hoping it will be like clearing a cache. Worst case is I'll have to reprogram my FM and Sirius stations, big deal if it fixes the clock issue.

In the other threads it seems like others have run into similar issues, but no solid solutions. Has anyone out there got any helpful info?

are you setting the time in gmt utc?
you can try erasing the data in the nav portion config/nav
you could also check and clean the rdo or ipc/dic fuse

I have tried going into the settings with the pin code & set it to GMT. I've set it from the settings screen. It always reverts. It also will not stay set on the 24hr clock. I have disconnected the battery & let it sit for 30 mins to try & do a hard reset. No luck. I haven't done anything to erase data in the nav section. I've thought if it was a phone or PC I could dump the cache & that might do it. Where can I find info on how to erase data from the nav system? Then maybe I can start it from new basically.

Sounds like there's something wrong with the head unit itself that it's not saving the settings anymore.
