Sooo. While snooping around my engine bay to look for clues on my stupid voltage issue ive been having recently (see atlernator and battery thread), I came across a set of wires that im pretty perplexed about... The picture show you the large plug, which only connect a red and black (assumed positive and negative) approximately 8-10 AWG wires. and what appears to be a factory plug with 6 slots in the front of the plug. When I found these wires, they were zip tied together, the plug was left uncovered, and the larger connector with the red and black wire had both ends of the plugs still attached, but the one end of the plug was just cut off, and lots of electrical tape was wrapped around the ends to avoid contact with and grounded metal i suppose...
As for the small plug, the first thing that came to mind is the heated washer fluid ,is that right?? But what about this BIG sucker... The truck is going to the dealer in the next couple days for them to reprogram my BCM because of the voltage issues ive been having (REALLY HOPING this works!), so if none of you know, I will ask them then. This is a certified vehicle, and this just doesnt make me feel comfortable with the "extensive" inspection they give to their certified vehicles, when I find a plug of this size just laying in the engine bay, with electrical wire wrapped so unprofessionally around the end of the wires!
EDIT: in this pic you can see where about it is located in the engine bay.. right behind the fuse box...
